Custom Ranch Style Floor Plan

Building a custom, more spacious home

The beauty of a custom home design is that you get to choose the exact style you want, and in this case, a custom ranch style floor plan.  Since falling out of desire and demand in the last few decades, ranch style floor plans are now making a return to vogue as many people are incorporating this style into their custom home.  Custom ranch style floor plans are very modern-like in that they embrace open spaces and connect the inside of your home with the outside. Not just that, but ranch style homes are typically easy to maintain due to their exterior structure and large spaces inside the home.  If you have considered a custom ranch style floor plan as your design of choice, here are some key elements that will be prominent in the design:

Single Floor Living

If you’re looking for a design that is comfortable and easy to move around in, a ranch style floor plan is perfect for your needs.  A ranch style home does puts an emphasis on large open spaces, so that there is no need to clog up space around your home with things you’ll never use.  Incorporating a minimalistic approach also makes it easier to manage your home and keep it looking the way you want it to look.  This type of design takes into account where you’ll be spending most of your time when you’re in your home.

Placing the majority of rooms and spaces that you primarily use on the same floor makes it easier to transition from one room to the next.

Glass Doors/Windows

Whether it’s windows or sliding doors, a custom ranch style floor plan incorporates glass finishing to bring in more natural light.  Now those large, open spaces are really glamorized and makes each room more bright and relaxing.

Outdoor Spaces

A ranch style home puts a large emphasis on having an outdoor space for entertaining and relaxing.  Having a large outdoor area in the home is very enticing to baby boomers, allowing them to age in place.  This also creates a nice indoor-outdoor flow, as ranch style floor plans are typically designed in a U or L shape.

Open Space

As mentioned before, ranch style homes embrace a less-formal lifestyle design than other custom home types and tend to be much more open and free-flowing.  Combined with the single floor approach, homeowner will be able to move from one room to the next effortlessly and comfortably, without having to deal with an excess of clutter around the home.

Given all of the key elements of a ranch style floor plan, our designs give our clients all of these and more. Our end goal with a ranch style design is to make the home look and feel much larger than it is while incorporating fresh, simple ideas that matches what the client is looking for.
