Francisca V. Alonso, a magna cum laude graduate from The School of Architecture at The Catholic University, has more than 20 years of experience in architectural and interior design. She was born in Santiago (Chile), grew up in the Costa del Sol (Spain) and studied architecture in Washington DC.

Francisca comes from a family of architects and builders. Her father was the internationally acclaimed Spanish architect Melvin Villarroel Roldan that designed luxury resorts and hotels in the Mediterranean coast and all over the world. Some examples are the award winning Puente Romano Hotel and the remodeling of the Marbella Club in Marbella, Spain.

Francisca’s husband, Tony Alonso, is also a graduate from CUA and a practicing architect and so are her two brothers and her sister that currently run Estudio Melvin Villarroel.

Francisca launched AV Architects in 2001 with a passion for architecture and a vision to provide full architectural services to high-end homeowners in the Metropolitan DC Area. A year later, she realized that she was not able to fully take care of their clients by only providing the architectural documents and not managing the construction process to the end.

In 2002, she added a sister company AV Builders to control the construction process and provide their high-end clients with a single point of accountability from concept to completion. Today, her company provides “Custom Design Services and a Seamless Construction Process and deliver Perfect Results”.

Her background, professional training and dedication for her craft has led her to establish a unique design-build approach that is beautifully exhibited in many homes all over the Great Falls and McLean area and maximizes the client’s investment budget.

Committed to the Master Builder Approach she has assembled an extraordinary team of construction specialists and craftsmen who transform ideas into reality. With this distinctive design-build approach, Francisca is able to control cost during the design process and protect the design during the construction stage.
